Surfboard Becomes State-of-the-Art Inspection Device

New app transforms Waste Water Treatment site monitoring

Scottish Water has created a tailor-made app transforming the science behind Scotland's waste water treatment processes. Called 'Exemplar', the app enables 24-hour monitoring across Scottish Water's main treatment sites from a phone, tablet, or laptop. The technology gives access to real-time data including waste water discharge quality and energy consumption and can even predict potential equipment failures before they happen. The app has proved so successful during the trial at Laighpark Waste Water Treatment Works near Paisley, it has now been rolled out across 16 other sites across Scotland.
